Cachoeira do Cerradão is located on private land within a protected RPPN (Private Natural Heritage Reserve), where an entrance fee is charged and access is controlled. The site features a series of four waterfalls—the main Cerradão drop (118 m) plus three smaller cascades (Meio, Pedra, and Ducha)—reached via a well-marked 1.5 km trail; the first falls and pools are easily accessible and suitable for swimming, while the upper cascades require more effort and are less visited. Access is via dirt roads from São Roque de Minas, with final access on foot from the reception area.
Cachoeira Casca D'Anta
Casca D’Anta Falls is the dramatic first waterfall of the São Francisco River, plunging about 186 m over a sheer cliff—one of Brazil’s highest and most iconic falls. It can be visited from both the top (for viewpoints and natural pools) and the base, reached via a short, easy trail from the park entrance, with access by dirt roads from nearby towns.
