Cahal Pech is a Maya archaeological reserve on a hill overlooking San Ignacio in the Cayo district of Belize. Its temples, palaces, courtyards and ballcourts lie only a short walk uphill from the town centre, making it one of the easiest major Maya sites in Belize to visit independently.

From central San Ignacio, walk south and uphill toward Cahal Pech Hill. The reserve is approximately a 10– to 20-minute uphill walk from the centre depending on the starting point and pace.
By taxi
A taxi from central San Ignacio takes only a few minutes. Agree on the fare before departure. Taxis do not normally need to wait, since another can be called from town for the return journey.

By bus
Long-distance buses serve San Ignacio from Belize City, Belmopan and towns along the George Price Highway, but they do not normally enter the archaeological reserve.
