The historical 35-m-high belfry of Gembloux is located on a rocky outcrop on the edge of the Orneau and in the center of the town. It is in fact the bell tower of the old Saint-Sauveur church, enhanced and fitted out to serve new communal functions. The bell tower officially became a belfry at the beginning of the 19th century. Since 2005 it has been classified as a as part of the Belfries of Belgium and France.
