Palash is a town in Narsingdi District on the northeast side of Dhaka. It has a provincial feel, characterized by the textile industry and the estates of zamindars, or landowners, who used to lease their land to farmers.

A classic specimen of a zamindar house of colonial style, with Corinthian columns, that was owned in the 18th century by a Muslim named Fenu Mia and his son Manu Mia.
Another house, though in disrepair yet perhaps even grander, that was owned by a Hindu zamindar family by the name of Saha. After passing through multiple generations, it was eventually acquired by a Muslim. There are several other houses belonging to the family on the estate aside from the main one.
